Has Outcomes Based Education worked anywhere in the world?

No ... every country that has tried it has now abandoned it or modified it severely.

Is there any evidence that Outcomes Based Education is better than the system we had before?

There is no evidence whatsoever.

What testing and trials were carried out in Western Australia before OBE was introduced?

None at all. The WA OBE system is purely experimental.

I don't understand my child's report. Is that due to Outcomes Education?

Exactly. Reports are often written in the same deliberately vague language that prevails in OBE. Levels and "Portfolios" really tell us nothing about where our child is at.

What was wrong with the previous system?

Not much at all. All our current brain surgeons, rocket scientists and university professors came
through it!

Why do we see ads in the newspaper that show WA students ahead of other countries in tests?

      We think its because many teachers don't like OBE and they continue to teach the way they
      have always taught. At the time of the tests, many of the students who were tested would not have
      been exposed to OBE style education in WA.
